LM-Light: An eLearning Standard

Web-based training is growing. But it's still complex to produce and integrate courseware with a LMS (Learning Management System). The aim of the LM-Light standard is to make the development/publishing of training course materials as easy as creating simple web pages by providing:

  • A simple way to communicate between courses and LMS .
  • A free "Reference LMS" to demonstrate how an LMS can be created .
  • Sample courses.

LM-Light is not designed as a replacement for existing standards such as AICC and SCORM - it's a lightweight alternative for organizations who can't afford (or don't want) expensive LMS packages, and for course authors who don't want to struggle with the issues of LMS integration.
